Businesses today are being faced with a number of very real challenges ranging from digital disruption, managing growth, start-up growing pains, attracting and retaining staff through to setting strategy for the future growth and investment. While there are many opportunities for growth for Toowoomba businesses, capitilising on this growth will require strong business management skills, particularly for small to medium size businesses who may not have the kind of management skill on staff.
The Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce in response to our 2017 Member survey and the current business environment in Toowoomba will be launching a Workshop series in 2018 that aims to build and strengthen the capacity of local businesses in our region. The objective of these workshops will be to grow these businesses, skills in the area that will directly impact on their ability to manage and grow their business in a sustainable way into the future. These workshops will also foster collaboration between participating businesses, provide quality networking opportunities and a dynamic environment in which to encourage innovation and creativity to be explored.
The Workshop Series will be delivered as a series of workshops with participating businesses being able to take advantage of the whole series or elect to participate in any of the topics individually.
1. Strategic Planning
Tuesday 30th January | 8:30am – 11:30am
Strategic planning is critical to business success and by taking the time to invest in a strategic planning process, you’re saying “I am ready to take this business to the next stage of success”. This session will help you define the why, what and how of your business, understand the core strengths of your business and help you position yourself for future success.
2. Profit Improvement
Tuesday 13th February | 8:30am – 11:30am
Processes to either add value or decrease waste to the production of an item or service will lead to profit improvement. Waste elimination is one of the most effective ways to increase profitability. This workshop will assist you in developing a clear waste reduction plan to increase profitability and will ultimately improve the value of your business.
3. Business Value Maximisation
Tuesday 27th February | 8:30am – 11:30am
How do you minimise your business risk? Let’s look at customer service, growth strategies, leadership development, recruitment processes, team development etc. and in the changing world we live in how do you face disruption head on.
4. Investor Ready
Tuesday 13th March | 8:30am – 11:30am
Are you looking at selling, looking for outside investment, Finance from a bank or simply passing on to the next generation? We will discuss how to lift profitability, improve systems, improve growth opportunities and many more strategic activities.
5. Utilisation of Profits/investments
Tuesday 27th March | 8:30am – 11:30am
How many changes/projects have you implemented into your business that were 100% successful? You will learn change methodology and how to deal with change that will dramatically lift the probability of change being successful.
The workshops will be delivered be specialist of each topic to ensure businesses recieve maximum value out of each workshop.

If the event is rescheduled, Local Tickets Pty Ltd reserves the right to decide whether Ticket Holders will automatically be refunded, or whether tickets will be transferred to another date with a refund option.
